Unique postdoc opportunity!
Unique postdoc opportunity!
If you are interested in mito-pathogen interactions during bacterial infection, this is something for you: together with the Sixt lab, we now offer a postdoc opportunity in a collaborative project to uncover the role of mitochondrial (dys)function during infection by Chlamydia trachomatis infection.
Due to its intracellular lifestyle, Chlamydia is dependent on the host cell and thus likely its mitochondria for survival. How does this pathogen evade the host cell’s immune defense and impact on its mitochondria? And vice versa – how does mitochondrial function impact bacterial survival and response against the bacteria? We hope to answer all these questions and more during this 2-year postdoc that is part of the unique EC postdoc program, patroned by the Nobel prize winner Emmanuelle Charpentier. The programme involves career support and the chance to network for continued career success.
The deadline for applications is October 29th. See Project 4 here for further details on how to apply!
